I'm sharing my key takeaways from Atomicon 2025
I attended the conference virtually and you will see a chat window on some of my screen grabs from the speakers. I was able to chat with other attendees in the session which really helped the interactive nature of the day.

Some of the speakers welcomed the virtually attendees at the start of their sessions which was a lovely touch. Thank you!

Andrew & Pete - Opening Ceremony

Doing small tasks brings small results, doing bigger tasks achieves bigger results.

What I'm going to do differently:

I’ve started to do some more detailed planning for my business, I have defined some BIG goals.

A bit scary!
Fearne Cotton followed the opening from A&P and spoke about how to build a brand that feels like home. I didn't actually take a photo while she was talking with A&P as I was getting the icepack on my foot.

I learned that she runs a festival which I didn't know about, it's called the Happy Place Festival, find out more about it here

She talked about being in the season of life and how friendships change and that it is important to not be spending time with as you said "people who make you feel crap!" This is something that I really identified with.

French exit was a phrase she used which is bscially when she's at an event, a party and decides it's time to leave, she just leaves without saying goodbye!

Laura Belgray - Emails that sell

Ask yourself, how would I talk to a friend, not how a business talks to a business, it's person to person!

What I'm going to do differently:

I’m working on my email strategy. Laura shared some great tips and I've signed up to her emails which are super helpful.

If you haven't already then please do sign up here my email newsletter.
At this point there was a break and Atomicon split into 4 streams. For those of us on the virtual experience, we went into virtual networking which was really well organised.
Sun Yi - How to grow your social media to over 10k followers

This was a session that I watched a recording of after Atomicon.

The more basic your content, the wider the reach.

What I'm going to do differently:

Keep your messaging simple for the win.

Jade Beason - Your YouTube Growth Map: How to use your analytics to hack your YouTube Growth

You need an audio and a visual hook in the first 10 - 15 seconds!
Use your end cards (see the screen grab)

What I'm going to do differently:

I’m working on more consistency with video content. I do have a youTube channel but it is dormant, so I have some tips to start using it again and creating and sharing content as part of my strategy. Watch this space.

The Two Lauras - The low lift way to create high-impact content

Sadly there was a technical issue and the session was able to be streamed for the virtual attendees, but I was able to come back and watch the recording. There was a moderator who came on and confirmed this.

Don't post content that your audience doesn't give a shit about!

What I'm going to do differently:

If it’s important to you, it doesn’t mean it’s important to someone else! on this text to edit it.

Suman Randhawa - How to handle any objection & sign more clients (with more heart and less hustle)

I went and watched Suman when it was clear that The Two Lauras session wasn't going to be streamed live.

Pause - listen and consider.
Ask & Mirror - use their languages, ti shows that they are heard and understood.
Be curious - ask questions.

What I'm going to do differently:

Remember to use this approach when talking to prospective clients and use their lanaguage in proposals. text to edit it.
The conference took a break for lunch. The ticket includes lunch which has already been good in the past, with a great choice and dietary requirements are requested. I made a salmon salad bowl at home.

Ravi Rajani - Relationship Currency: 3 Communications habis that inspire trust & ignite sales growth

The desire for instant gratification breeds short-term behaviour that kills your long-term reputation

What I'm going to do differently:

Stay in my lane and not get distracted by new shiny things, it's hard but a work on. I won't achieve BIG goals if I keep getting distracted.

Robin Waite - Fearless Partnerships: 5 steps to generate thousands of leads and create myltip 6 figure income in one move

The desire for instant gratification breeds short-term behaviour that kills your long-term reputation. Don't go into a room wanting something. Be helpful, add value.

What I'm going to do differently:

Stay in my lane and not get distracted by new shiny things, it's hard but a work on.

I won't achieve BIG goals if I keep getting distracted.

All the speakers were super friendly and had giveaways for those attending, Robin has sent me a copy of his latest book.
There was another break before the final sessions ahead of the closing key note. I went into virtual networking.

Judi Fox - Turn LinkedIn into a Sales Funnel with AI

SEO the hell out of it! Have you googled yourself?

Be a consistent human!

What I'm going to do differently:

Stick to the frequency of what I am doing.
At this point everyone went back into Sage One which is the main theatre for the final key note and closing remarks from Andrew and Pete.

Geoff Ramm - Celebrity Service 2: (The gap in your serevice you never knew existed)

Never underestimate the power of a compliment. Geoff is an amazing story teller This is the second time he has been the closing keynote speaker.

What I'm going to do differently:

Give more compliments, I even wrote a post a bout it and am going to be randomly writing recommendations on LinkedIn.
So keep an eye out..and do the same yourself.

I didn't take a screen grab of the closing remarks from Andrew & Pete, after this everyone heads off to the after party and I joined the virtual after party - music bingo which was good fun. I didn't get a full house but came close.

ATOMICON is a multi-track conference, which means you can choose the sessions that are relevant to you. And don't worry if you can’t be in two places at once (or want to take a break); ALL sessions are recorded so you can watch them later.

If your plans change, like mine did this year, you can switch to a virtual ticket, where there is a virtual pre and after-party as well as networking during the day - all from the comfort of your sofa or home office (or garden).

If you’re worried about being overwhelmed, there are chill-out areas, and every session is recorded so you can watch after the event if you decide to take a break or are just having a great conversation.

If you fancy it, I have an affiliate link, which means I get a small thank you from the organisers if you book.

Let's summarise

I hope you found at least one thing you can apply to your own business from the speakers I saw.

I ended switching to a virtual attendee due to a fall and a subsequent fracture which took over 2 weeks to be diagnosed and watched from home, switching between the kitchen and my home office (hence the photo to the right and sceen grabs on my Mac).

I wrote a post about the virtual experience as I know some of you just aren't people people and this might be the right option for you.

It really was very well done, so definitely an option if your plans change or you can't spare the time away from your business.
